What is it with little kids that bring me so much joy in life?! I have been watching my sister's kids while she went to Texas for 9 days. I'm having such a blast with them that I am dreading Saturday when she comes back. I have been in tears laughing from what they have been saying and doing. The oldest is Orion and he is 11 yrs. old. Next, is Mason and he just turned 9 yrs. old. And last but definitely not least, Bryn and she just turned 5 last week. And that girl is hilarious...She made a beaded necklace with Carli last night and was trying to sneak it into Orion's backpack this morning. And when he wouldn't take it, she said in this deep, funny voice, "You need the necklace of power!" I about fell over from laughing so hard. While her brother's are at school, I get to hang out with her...lucky me....seriously! When she found out that I had fake nails put on, she examined my nails and said she liked them, then proceeded to lift the back of her shirt and have me tickle her back with them. We have been singing and dancing to music (I do that with my teens and they think I'm nuts!), dressing up (can't seem to get the boys to do that anymore), and playing with play dough (miss that smell). Call me crazy, but I sooo miss this age! I really wish my kids were little again...I do! They were so much fun to be around. Don't get me wrong, having teenagers are fun too. But there is just something about little kids...maybe their innocence? And why is it that when you hear a baby's laugh, you can't help but laugh yourself? I just love that, and miss that, and I'm gonna stop typing now cuz I'm starting to tear up :)
Can I send my kids to your house, too? Shoot, can I send myself to your house? Sounds like fun. Also... you say you can't get your boys to play dress up 'anymore'...sounds like there's a story there (or at the very least some decent blackmail material). :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having fun. Little kids can be contagious. Haele makes us laugh at the things she does.
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! Feel free to take mine as often as you would like.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog!! So cute. Any time you need a kid fix you can borrow any one of my girls! ;P
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see you on here! Of course, I have to agree with you 100% about children. It's kind of a bummer for us because we live way too far away from all of them!
ReplyDeleteI really needed to read this post tonight! Often when you are in the middle of it {by that I mean plenty of small children always swarming around you} it's easy to forget to cherish it. They are so sweet {a lot of times} when they are young. I know I will miss these days someday {just not today}.
ReplyDeleteIt's really good to hear the perspective of someone who has already been in my shoes. I'm certain you will continue to inspire me to be a better mother!
